Technohead Biography

Technohead

Although husband-and-wife team Michael Wells and Lee Newman recorded under many different names (including Tommy Yamaha, Tricky Disco and GTO) for labels such as XL, R&S, Mute and React, they gained most of their success as Technohead. "I Wanna Be a Hippy" stayed at number one on the Dutch charts for four weeks in mid-1995, but on August 4, just three days after the couple released their debut album Headsex, Lee Newman died of cancer. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
