Gardenian Biography
Formed by ex-In Flames guitarist Nicklas Engelin, Gardenian (like his former outfit) falls into the textbook definition of the Gothenburg sound, a relatively accessible brand of progressive death metal. After an indie album titled Six Feet Stand, Gardenian signed with Nuclear Blast and issued Soulburner in mid-1999, which helped the band build a stateside following. Sindustries followed it up in late 2000. ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide
